All IBM PCs can now play Tetris Attack
For PC Jam, I ported my favorite SNES game to a forty-year-old computer with bad graphics, worse sound, and a toy processor - and it rocked.
For Itch.io, I wrote, "the only PCs this won't kick ass on did not have graphics."
That oversight has been corrected.
8088 Tetris Attack now supports the Monochrome Display Adapter - with detailed tiles and backgrounds clawed from the fixed 80x25 text mode. All models of IBM 5150, the PCjr, and any other CGA, MGA, or Hercules compatible IBM PC clone can now zone out to the least Tetris-y "Tetris" game ever released.
Gameplay is framerate-independent and smooth even on a 4.77 MHz Intel 8088. The name is no joke! This is a real-mode COM file. And one time I sat down to record a little demo video and suddenly it was three hours later.
